Blogger in draft

Going to try out the draft version of Blogger...one of the new features means it should allow scheduling of blog posts, which I'll be very happy to have!
I'm going to do a quick check by scheduling this to post at a time when I can't post as I'm working, i.e. the middle of the morning....let's see if it works!

Looks like it worked on my end! :) That would be convenient for those Sunday posts when I'm dashing off for other locales.

Please let me know what you think of the beta

Yup, is all working fine and dandy for me!
Means I can stockpile non-current / general issue posts, and schedule them for the future.

Took me a while to realise that you have to choose "publish", not "save" for it to work. Thought pressing "publish" might, well, just publish it immediately, but nope - that just schedules it in.

There's something you can do with your blogroll in the beta too apparently, but it's just the scheduled publishing I've been trying, and it's spanky :D

Library words

Putting words about libraries and books onto posters is very popular, so there's all sorts of options out there. These items are here because they have a quote or slogan about libraries or books printed on them. There's one quote in particular that seems to be a favourite of poster makers: see if you can spot which one it is.... Library bird (ok, it's a magnet, but hey...) Mini Christmas gifts

Miniature things are one of my favourites, and miniature books are no exception. These tiny books are available either as volumes or sets of volumes on their own, or as parts of dolls house or in specialised miniature library settings. And some of the miniature libraries are just insanely good! I've not included here the many options of wearable miniature books - earrings, necklaces, bracelets, badges... Or one with a secret compartment? There are even illustrated erotic mini books! You can theme by colour! Careering along

When I look around at the activities of information professional groups, it seems that there’s a disparity. There’s quite often a lot of support and funding available for those who’re just starting out in the profession, but a desert of nothingness for those of us who’re “just getting on with it”. If you’re a new professional, you have lots of groups to support you as you progress in your early career, various prize funds available for essay and report writing, access to bursaries for conference attendance, eligibility for awards for being new and enthusiastic. But what do you get when you’re past that bright-eyed-and-bushy-tailed first 5 years (5 years seems to be the approximate cut-off point for becoming “established” and no longer new). What happens when you’ve already received a bursary from an organisation earlier in your career and so wouldn’t be eligible for one now, meaning you’re not able to attend events or training? When you’re heavily involved in a project but not at
