Bits-o-books

As a true book lover, you'll be keen to decorate your home with things made from bits-o'-books, and book related items, won't you? To begin with, you can welcome people in to your home with a nice decorative wreath on your door: shop Once you're inside, you'll be looking for a nice way to store the books that you want to keep to read. This is an unusual take on the traditional way of keeping books on shelves... shop However, if you stick with a traditional bookcase style, you'll need some bookends...how about keeping things in place with a slice of the outside world, and its strata? shop But you don't want time to run away from you, while you're buried in your books. So maybe a clock would be a wise investment? shop Don't strain your eyes when reading your favourite tome: invest in a nice little light to illuminate your reading material. shop For the ladies, a pretty place to store jewellery is always a bonus...

What *are* those things called?

You know, the wee wooden toys, usually of a four-legged animal, that are strung together, and temporarily collapse when you press in the wooden base? Anyhoo, I saw this advert from a design agency, apparently it's for easy to assemble furniture, but I wish it was real: I'd definitely need one of them!

Some book shelf solutions

Ah, the joys of Crib Candy - so many pretty things appear in my feed reader! Of course, as a library geek, I keep a note of the nicest shelving solutions...hey, you never know when my employers might go mad and demand a redesign of the Library using only eco-friendly materials, or one entirely suspended from the ceiling, right?!?! So, here's some of the most interesting book shelves that I've seen recently. Random library and book bits

A collection of some of the pretty / fun library related stuff I've bookmarked over the past few weeks... Furniture and decorative bits, made out of those pesky, un-recyclable books: Source Elephant / bus / snail shaped bookshelves for kids rooms...funky! Some fabulous, (and some insane) shelving / bookcase ideas here . My favourite is this one, the arrangement in the top right makes it look like a tree full of books: And finally, a way to reuse all those Metro papers that keep appearing in the corner of rooms.... roll them into twine , and make them into rugs!

The bookcase bed, and the heart of the home?

This would certainly be fun in a smaller flat - who needs a sofa bed for guests when you can accommodate them with a bookcase bed !! Not sure I understand the workings of it fully - apparently there's 4 sections to make it into a double, and 2 for the single, but I can only see 2 parts. I assume there's a double layer of mattress, one hidden behind the other, when it's stacked against the wall? And I also want this done in my house ...unfortunately, I think I'm a teensy bit short of the space needed!!
